Upon arrival in New York, a private coach will take you to the historic Algonquin Hotel in midtown Manhattan. Tonight get acquainted with your fellow travelers at KELLARI TAVERNA, the warm & welcoming Greek restaurant just a few steps from the hotel on 44th Street. Tonight’s first Broadway theater outing is YOUR CHOICE of HADESTOWN, MOULIN ROUGH – OR – any SHOW on BROADWAY. THURSDAY: This morning George takes you on a walking tour of Broadway in the footsteps of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter and the Broadway greats of the past. You will discover how Broadway came to be and hear stories from the history of the American Songbook. Afterward, you will meet a cast member from one of our shows for stories, a Q & A and private performance. TONIGHT you will have TICKETS to see HUGH JACKMAN & SUTTON FOSTER in THE MUSIC MAN.
FRIDAY: The day is free to spend as you wish in the Big Apple. This evening you will have tickets to a new show on Broadway TBD. Under consideration are MJ, the new high-energy show capturing the excitement of Michael Jackson; Patti Lupone in the 1970 Stephen Sondheim masterpiece COMPANY.
After theater join George for a nightcap at SARDI’S.
SATURDAY: The day is at your leisure. George Harter will provide a few options for your free time today, such as a walk along THE HIGHLINE or a historic walk thru GREENWICH VILLAGE. Tonight its old school fine dining at BARBETTA on restaurant row, one of the oldest restaurants in New York City.
Our last theater outing is the wonderful new Broadway transfer of GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY (Duluth, Minn. 1934) after a sold-out run at The Public Theater. Critics have been raving about this new play by Conor McPherson (The Weir, The Seafarer) using songs by Bob Dylan.
SUNDAY: Enjoy a leisurely Sunday morning. check out of the Algonquin Hotel. A private coach will depart the Algonquin at noon for afternoon flights home.
